Dr Anna Carby MBBS, MRCGP,DRCOG

 

Dr Carby gained her medical qualification in 1994 at Charing Cross Hospital, London having previously studied for a degree in pharmacology.

She has worked as a fertility specialist for 7 years, the majority of this time at IVF Hammersmith, one of the largest providers of assisted conception cycles in the United Kingdom. She oversees the day to day running of the Unit and deals with some of the technically more challenging egg collections and embryo transfers.

She offers a personalised approach to assisted conception treatment performing treatment scans, collections and transfers for her patients wherever possible.

Her other role is of quality manager for IVF Hammersmith, one the the first units in the UK to gain ISO accreditation in 2006. She also sits on the Quality and Safety Committee for Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust and is actively involved in improving standards and stream-lining care to make treatment as stress-free as possible for patients.

 

A previous background in research, with one of the UK’s largest pharmaceutical company’s, she maintains an active interest in research and has published and presented at international conferences. She has a special interest in preserving the fertility of patients with a recent cancer diagnosis and co-ordinates egg donation and surrogacy cycles at IVF Hammersmith.

 

She is involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching for clinical and scientific programmes.

 

She is a member of the British Fertility Society and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
